San Carlos hosts first COA management conference

SAN CARLOS CITY . The Commission on Audit’s Office of the Regional Cluster Director, Sub-Cluster III- Local Sector, of

San Fernando City , La Union, conducted its first management conference for the year 2008 on Feb. 1, 2008. The site of this whole day conference was at the Kevin’s Restaurant in
Rizal Avenue , San Carlos

City.

 

Acting Mayor Joseres Resuello in his welcome address before the conference started, remarked that he is “optimistic that the activity will be very productive with fresh and novel insights and visions, aspirations and presentations that shall enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the COA.”

 

Facilitating this conference were Regional Cluster Director Elguira Jimenez, Team I Provincial Accounts Officer Atty. Efren Bravante, State Auditor IV Rosa Marieta Escaño for

San Carlos City who is the team leader in the conference, Alaminos City Auditor Manuela Tamondong, and COA officers and staff from the municipalities of Bayambang, Malasiqui, and Lingayen.

 

Discussed in the conference were the salient points of the monthly accomplishment reports, the Audit Plan for CY 2008, and audit programs (value for money audit).

 

Tackled in the conference too, was audit of financial assistance and contributions to leagues and federation of local elective officials, public officials and NGO’s. The conference also discussed auditing of the 20 % Development Fund, and loans payable.

           

Other matters that were brought up during the conference were the preparation and submission of annual audit reports and plans, submission of audit highlights, scheduling of the conduct of exit conference, review and transmittal of accounting annual reports, complete implementation of risk base annual audit, and the issuance of office order for audit teams.(CIO)
