Search for outstanding P’sinan women reels off

THE PHILIPPINE Council of Women (PCW), Inc-Pangasinan Chapter has announced the launching of the “Search for Outstanding Women Achievers of Pangasinan” for the Year 2008.

 

The exact date and venue though, has yet to be known.

 

In a recent briefing held in

Dagupan City, First District Provincial Board Member Alice Pulido, PCW president, said the project aims to recognize extraordinary accomplishments of women in various fields of endeavor.

 

The first of it’s kind to be launched in the province, the search is focused on achievers in community leadership and service, the performing arts ( movie, stage, theater),entertainment, social welfare, entrepreneurship, diplomacy, journalism, culture, arts, travel, and tourism, agriculture, education, sports, and cottage industry.

 

The nominees, according to Pulido, must be true blue Pangasinenses who excelled in their own fields of specialization and have won honors for the province, either in nationally or internationally.

 

Joining Pulido in pushing the project are Irene Libunao, chairperson; Fe Soriano and Marilou Macanlalay, board of directors; Lolita Columbres, treasurer and Jeanie “Jinky” Zaplan, secretary.

 

The candidates for the award should be nominated by either person of respect or reputable organization and must be submitted to the PCWL Secretariat at the office of BM Pulido.
