LINGAYEN — Governor Amado Espino Jr, received Thursday the first trance of P40 million worth of equipment, supplies and medicines donated to the province’s tropical storm victims by the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) in Manila.

The donation was turned over by Engr. Rosendo So, president of the Eastern Pangasinan Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EPFCCCI), who sought the donation in behalf of the people of Pangasinan.

So, who is the founder of the Abono partylist, along with Rep. Raymond Robert Estrella Jr. of Abono, and Gov. Espino, personally made representations with CSMC officials.

Espino thanked CSMC for the donation.

The Governor said that the second trance is set to arrive next week while the third trance is scheduled on the succeeding week.

“Mr. So was very instrumental with this. He talked to his friends from Cardinal Santos Medical Center who all agreed to give the donation after being informed of the huge devastation wrought by Cosme in Pangasinan,” Espino told newsmen.

He said that the equipment, supplies and medicines donated by CSMC are all brand new and imported from the United States.

Espino further said the donation will help alleviate the life of Pangasinenses since they will go to the 14 government hospitals operated by the province that were also damaged by Cosme.

But a bigger portion of the donation will be allocated to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City, which has the most number of patients, he said.
