The event will be led by Kasaup, an organization formed last year to help marginalized Kapampangans.
Jose Marie Sandico, one of the organizers of the event, said guest speakers will discuss topics “about and related to good governance and responsible citizenship.” He said the event, which is open to the public, will include the participation of civil society groups and non-government organizations (NGOs).
Sandico clarified that the congress is their group’s initiative. “We believe in good governance, fortunately it is Governor Eddie Panlilio that embodies this advocacy in his current administration,” Sandico said.
Kasaup and other congress participants are set to gather in front of the San Fernando Cathedral at 1 p.m. and march to the Capitol grounds where the program will be held.
Panlilio will be the last speaker of the event, Sandico said.
Organizers are urging ordinary citizens to get involved in local government and serve as watchdogs for good governance.
